Detailed Description: On the tall side, with Scandinavian coloring from her mother - as well as the long blond hair, Avery has bright blue eyes and light skin that tans easily. She's almost always smiling, which can cause people to underestimate her until the first time they deal with her in the kitchen.
Avery is very much a bohemian in style - she prefers jeans and flat shoes, and spices up her wardrobe with jewelry and interesting blouses. She's been known to wear dresses, normally of the flowing variety, but very rarely dresses to the nines. When she does, however, it's an impressive sight.
personality :
Charming, gregarious, absolutely flirtatious and always with a bright smile on her face, Avery tends to be seen as a little flighty and not nearly serious enough to have the position of responsibility she has in the Logan Square patisserie and restaurant where she works. But that's an opinion only held by those who haven't seen her in action at work.
Though kind, and even sweet to a certain degree, Avery is a very driven young woman when it comes to what she's decided matters - and her career is one of those things. In addition, while she looks like the kind of girl who dances barefoot in the rain (and she would, in fact, do that if given the opportunity), she can be very pragmatic and sensible. Almost too much so at times, which is a byproduct of her very unstructured upbringing.
history:
Though born in Savannah, Georgia, Avery Hamilton grew up in a nomadic sort of existance. Both of her parents - who didn't believe in the institution of marriage, and thus never tied the knot - felt that she was better off experiencing life by seeing the world, and so they never stayed long in one place. At first they stuck with the American South, where Michael had grown up, but eventually Astrid convinced her partner that they should go back to her home country of Sweden for a while, and Avery spent a few years there, and then traveling around Europe with her parents.
They somehow made ends meet between her father working as an English tutor or teacher and her mother performing in cafes and small concert venues. When Avery was old enough, she and Astrid made an attractive performing duo - she'd inherited her mother's voice, if not her ability to compose.
Eventually, though, Avery turned eighteen, and she decided that she wanted to attend college instead of continuing to roam the world with her parents. Both Michael and Astrid were supportive of this, especially Michael, and she sent in applications to colleges across the United States. Ultimately, it was Columbia College in Chicago that offered her the most aid, and so it was to Chicago she went.
And in Chicago she stayed, surprising her parents and most of her other relatives. But counter to her upbringing, Avery was ready to put down roots.
